As women, we are so busy that we sometimes neglect ourselves and our health. So we created an easy way to keep track of the women's preventive care screenings you should consider getting each year.1 (Discuss them with your doctor first, of course.)2
Check the appointments you've done and schedule what's next. Then give yourself a high five. (Ta-dah!)
Your doctor will check your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and BMI / weight.
Use these visits to discuss your menstrual cycle, sexual activity, contraception, pregnancy history, and any symptoms or concerns.
Starting at age 21, about every 3 years.
Starting at age 21, about every 5 years.
Starting at age 40 or sooner if you are at high risk. Talk with your doctor about when and how often you should get screened.
For all women over age 65 or women age 64 and younger that have gone through menopause.
Starting at age 50. You may need to get screened earlier if you have other risks.
All women should be screened for depression and anxiety at least once during pregnancy and again postpartum, ideally at the first postpartum visit.
Regular check-ins allow your PCP to assess your sleep patterns, stress levels, and overall health to identify potential problems early on, before they escalate into more serious conditions.
